North London Estate Partnerships (NLEP) and their supply chain partners, provided support and assistance in order to carry out urgent works at Hornsey Central Health Centre, rapidly creating a Covid-19 vaccination area within a former Pharmacy space which was sitting empty. The works were carried out within two weeks of the initial instruction from head tenant, CHP.
Following detailed discussion on the scheduling, design and layout of the works, NLEP engaged with the FM provider (Bellrock), quickly mobilising their sub-contractor team, amd placing orders for materials and supplies in order to refit and refurbish the area.
The timescale for undertaking the internal and external works from site start to finish was eight days – with the teams turning an unused area of the building into a Covid-19 vaccination area for 400 people a day. The speed and quality of the works were noted by the client (CHP), NHS management and clinical staff.
The reconfiguration and refurbishment work included:
Creation of vaccination bays, waiting area and reception
Install of temporary external covered walkway, waiting area
Dirty and clean utility areas, store and consent room
Mechanical services install of wash hand basins and services,
Electrical services, small power, data, access control lighting fire and security
Demolition and install of internal partition walls and doors.
